A guide in your ear for wandering.
Put your earphones in and walk wherever you like. Guidamo tells you the story of the places you pass, and answers when you ask out loud. No route to follow, no wall of text to read.
- Stories as you walkPass a church, a statue or an old gate and a short spoken story starts by itself. Important places stand out; small ones keep quiet unless you want them.
- Ask out loud"Who built this?" "Where do locals eat around here?" Ask by voice, typing, or a photo of what's in front of you, and get a spoken answer based on sources about that place.
- A map that keeps you orientedSee what's worth a look around you, and fill in a passport of the places and areas you've explored. No streaks, no nagging.
- Works offlineDownload an area before you go and keep listening without a connection.
Built for wandering, not for itineraries
Most travel apps are planners: lists to tick off and screens to read. Guidamo is the opposite. The screen is for a glance, the story is in your ears, and the guide speaks only when there's something worth saying. Its stories are written from Wikipedia, Wikidata and OpenStreetMap, so they stick to what's actually known about each place.
Where it works
Greece, Bulgaria and the Netherlands today, including the small towns most guides skip. More countries are on the way. The app speaks English, Bulgarian, Dutch, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
